The Memories Live On

Following consultation with the Council of Priests for the Archdiocese, Archbishop Conti decided to close Our Lady of Fatima church and parish in Dalmarnock in January 2004. Founded in 1950 from the Eastern area of Sacred Heart and the southern tip of St. Michael's, Parkhead the majority of the boundries of Our Lady of Fatima parish have been returned to Sacred Heart.

At sunday mass on the 1st February 2004 the parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima joined with their new fellow parishioners here at Sacred Heart.

Whilst much sadness still remains at the loss of a beloved  church and parish to many people there is much hope that the newly combined parish community of Sacred Heart, Bridgeton & Dalmarnock will make a stronger witness of the Kingdom values to our fellow brothers and sisters here in this part of the East End of Glasgow.

Our Lady Of Fatima, Pray For Us!

We remember with much gladness and gratitude the priest's and people who have served the parish of Our Lady of Fatima both living and dead.

We pray that Our Blessed Mother will intercede to her Beloved Son and many blessings will pour forth on our new parish comunity as we journey together into the future.

The pictures are used with the kind permission of the Archdiocese of Glasgow and were taken as the parish celebrated it's 50th jubilee during the year 2000. The pictures show some of the parishioners along with Cardinal Winning R.I.P.
